November is Bladder Health Month

Did you know that November has been designated as Bladder Health Month?  If you did, that’s great!  If not, keep reading to find our more about this health awareness month and what USC is offering during the month of November.

Millions of Americans struggle with some form of bladder condition.  These conditions and diseases include incontinence, reoccuring urinary tract infections, bladder cancer, overactive and underactive bladder just to name a few.  The month of November has been set aside by The Urology Care Foundation and the American Urological Association (AUA), along with the Bladder Health Alliance to help bring awareness to these conditions.  According to their site, The Urology Care Foundation leads a coalition of 30 patient and physician advocacy organizations that work to advance awareness and education about bladder health.   Each week the Urology Care Foundation will be highlighting different bladder conditions.

Week 1 – Interstitial Cystitis, Neurogenic Bladder, Bladder Infections & UTIs

Week 2 – Bladder Cancer

Week 3- Incontinence, OAB and SUI

Week 4 – Bedwetting, Nocturia, Bladder Exstrophy and other Bladder Conditions/Diseases

This month is all about educating and empowering people to take control of their bladder health!
