ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. enthusiastically welcomes Pamela Brower, BHSc, RVS, RVT, Vascular Consultant with Inside Echo LLC, for an exciting discussion on volunteering within the field of Sonography. Join us for A Sonographer’s Journey Without Borders.
Course Description:
Making the decision to volunteer, whether domestically or internationally, can be a fantastic opportunity to “give back” and make a difference in the lives of people who are not as fortunate. But, the hardest step in the process is where to begin. Our speaker will share her travel encounters from her domestic and international volunteer work which has provided her with a variety of emotional experiences including uncertainty, joy, and BIG blessings. Join us as she describes and explains how to volunteer and recognize the personal and professional growth that can be derived from this type of service. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
• Explain how one can volunteer for medical missions both domestically and internationally
• Recognize opportunities that fit the desire to volunteer
• State challenges for volunteer service on domestic and international levels
About Our Speaker: Pamela Brower, BHSc, RVS, RVT, earned a Bachelor’s in Health Science from Nova Southeastern University. She has been President of IFSER (International Foundation for Sonography Education and Research) for the past 8 years. This has allowed her to work with other practitioners domestically and internationally addressing the ongoing need to enhance ultrasound education globally. She has enjoyed using her passion for teaching and serving with medical teams while on missions to Haiti, the French Congo with Mercy Ships, and with a team to Nepal. She looks forward to future volunteer opportunities, as well.
In addition, Pam was the Department Chair of a CAAHEP-accredited Sonography program in East Texas for 20 years. While there, she was awarded the 2008 Endowed Chair for Teaching Excellence. Currently, she is a consultant for Inside Echo (assisting Vascular Labs with IAC accreditation), as well as an item writer for the RVS exam offered by Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
Personally, she is blessed with 5 grandchildren and, while born in Boston but living in Texas, her Bostonian roots run deep for the Red Sox and Patriots.
This activity has been approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit. The CME participant roster will be reported by Ultrasound Solutions Corp. to the SDMS CME Tracker System
Important update from the SDMS:
SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.
Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, this is a new SDMS policy we must abide by. Thank you for understanding.
