Course Description
Are you baffled by Diastology? This session will provide a breakdown of the ASE guidelines to help you learn the “ins and outs” of assessing diastolic function. Case studies and echocardiographic images will be utilized to illustrate key clinical points.

About Our Speaker
Dr. Ronald Wharton is a Clinical Cardiologist, Echocardiographer, and nationally recognized expert. He is currently a member of the faculty at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. Prior to working at North Shore University Hospital, he was a member of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Divisions of Maimonides Medical Center (Brooklyn, NY) and Montefiore Medical Center (Bronx, NY). Dr. Wharton, who is board-certified in Cardiology and Echocardiography, has been a member of the faculty at the annual meeting of the American Society of Echocardiography four times. He has written questions for the practice exams used by Cardiology Fellows to study for their board certification in Echocardiography, and for practicing Cardiologists to maintain their certification. In addition, he has been the author of the series “Analyze This Image” at Medscape Cardiology since 2012.
