ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is pleased to present Rivka Hellmann, MS, RDMS, RDCS Clinical Associate Professor and Clinical Coordinator SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University Diagnostic Medical Imaging Program for an informative session on the sonographic evaluation of the pediatric pelvis.
Course Description:
Ultrasound is often the first line of imaging for the pediatric patient, preferred for its lack of ionizing radiation to the still-developing child. Sonography can confirm normally placed and developed pelvic structures, as well as the presence or absence of a suspected disease, abnormality, or malignancy. This course will offer the participant a general overview of the pediatric pelvis and how sonography can be useful in its assessment. (Approved for 1.5 SDMS CME credits)
Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
Identify normal pediatric pelvic anatomy on ultrasound
Explain normal pediatric pelvic physiology
Describe the sonographic protocol and indications of a pediatric pelvic ultrasound
Describe benign and malignant lesions of the pediatric pelvic patient as seen on ultrasound
