MSK Sonography: Cases to Ponder

August 21, 2024 @ 7:00 pm 8:00 pm EDT

Ultrasound has been proven valuable as an accurate tool in the diagnosis of a variety of conditions affecting muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and joints throughout. This presentation will “take a walk around the body” to highlight some Musculoskeletal (MSK) pathologies that can be evaluated using sonography. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)

Course Objectives:  Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Explain normal MSK sonographic anatomy
  • Recognize MSK pathologies
  • Discuss some common techniques to improve MSK scanning and imaging

About Our Speaker:

Dr. Ralph A. Milillo is a Musculoskeletal Radiologist currently employed by Northwell Health. He completed his residency training at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC, where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Milillo then completed his fellowship training at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA.

At his current position, Dr. Milillo is the Medical Director of a busy outpatient imaging office with a focus on MSK diagnostic imaging and interventions. He is also the Program Director of the Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

Dr. Milillo thinks ultrasound is an important part of our field because it is accessible and affordable. It provides a bounty of information when performed in the right hands. Its ability to offer dynamic imaging and answer certain clinical questions is critical.

This activity is an approved SDMS CME activity – approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit.

Please note that partial credit will not be issued.

The CME participant roster will be reported by Ultrasound Solutions Corp. to the

SDMS CME Tracker System.

Important update from the SDMS:

SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.

Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, this is a new SDMS policy we must abide by. Thank you for understanding.
