Advances in Ultrasound Imaging Architecture

June 26 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is delighted to welcome Jim Baun, MEd, RDMS, RVT, FSDMS, Sonography Scholar Emeritus, for a fascinating discussion on technological advances and innovations in the field of sonography.

Course Description:

New developments in core ultrasound technologies and system architecture over the past decade have revolutionized sonographic imaging methods and have opened the door for the creation of novel non-invasive diagnostic modalities. This discussion will provide a comparison of conventional ultrasound imaging methods with these new approaches. Besides exploring some of the clinical and imaging benefits associated with architecture and system performance enhancements, it will also cover some of the newest diagnostic applications. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)

Course Objectives:  Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify the four innovative engineering pillars associated with advanced ultrasound imaging architecture.
  • Describe the improvement in sonographic image quality and performance benefits associated with new platform capabilities.
  • Discuss several emerging diagnostic technologies made possible with advances in ultrasound imaging architecture.

About Our Speaker:

JbaunJim Baun, MEd, RDMS, RVT, FSDMS, is a pioneering clinical, research, and academic Sonographer who has been practicing since the early days of the profession. With over forty years’ experience in the field, his areas of expertise have come to include Vascular and OB/GYN sonography, hemodynamics, ultrasound physics and instrumentation, and emerging technologies.

Jim is widely published in medical literature and has authored several academic textbooks, as well as over twenty peer-reviewed journal articles. He has served on the faculty and advisory councils for several university and college-based sonography programs and has developed didactic curricula for private educational organizations throughout the United States and abroad. In recognition of his contributions to the profession, Jim was elevated to Fellow status in the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in 1997, was the recipient of the Joan Baker Pioneer Award in 2016, and delivered the prestigious McLaughlin Memorial Lecture at the SDMS Annual Conference in 2019.

After living and working for 35 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, Jim retired to his hometown of Toledo, Ohio in 2019 but remains active as a clinical, education, and research consultant for ultrasound device manufacturers and sonography educational programs.

This activity is an approved SDMS CME activity – approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit.

Please note that partial credit will not be issued.

The CME participant roster will be reported by Ultrasound Solutions Corp. to the SDMS CME Tracker System.

Important update from the SDMS:

SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.

Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered.
