ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is thrilled to present Gregory Matter, RDMS, RVT, for a comprehensive discussion on how to fine-tune neonatal head scanning skills.
Course Description:
Evaluation of the pediatric head using ultrasound is an important tool for neonatal care. Of course, the accurate diagnosis of cranial pathologies affecting premature and full-term infants depends on thorough imaging and recognition of the anatomy of neonatal head structures. This course will cover a scanning protocol for the neonatal head, discuss boney and parenchymal landmarks, and will examine some of the common pathologies seen during neonatal head sonography. In addition, proper scanning techniques will be reviewed. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event.)
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
- Understand a scanning protocol for evaluation of the neonatal head.
- Discuss scanning techniques used to properly image and evaluate the neonatal head.
- Describe anatomical landmarks demonstrated in neonatal head sonograms.
- Recognize common neonatal head pathologies.
