Transcatheter Aortic Valve Repair (TAVR) Procedures Course Description: 

Through an analysis of clinical case studies on patients that underwent Transcatheter Aortic Valve Repair (TAVR) procedures, this presentation focuses on how ultrasound should be considered an important tool in structural heart disease (SHD) procedures. These case studies include clinical history, clinical diagnostics, and imaging tools used before, during, and after the procedure. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit)

This course is being presented in collaboration with Siemens Healthineers and IFSER.

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss the role ultrasound plays in pre-procedural imaging and how it works alongside other modalities.
  • Understand how 2D and Full Volume TEE can assist in diagnostics.
  • Identify the importance of sizing Structural Heart Disease devices using ultrasound analysis.
  • Explain how ultrasound can monitor and navigate a Structural Heart Disease procedure.

About our Speaker:

Transcatheter Aortic Valve ReplacementConnie Casey, RDCS, RDMS, RVT, serves as the Director of Cardiology Ultrasound for North America within Siemens Healthineers. Connie has had a lifelong passion for ultrasound. She has been a registered Sonographer for 26 years and has spent the past 22 years within industry for ultrasound positioned in Clinical Applications, Product Development, Product Marketing and as a Segment Manager.  Connie started her ultrasound career working as a Sonographer in Florida specializing in Cardiac, General Imaging, OB/GYN, and Vascular Sonography

 

 

This activity has been approved for 1 SDMS CME credit.
