
ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is pleased to present DR. RALPH MILILLO, Director of Northwell Health’s Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship, for a detailed look at MUSCULOSKELETAL ULTRASOUND OF THE FOOT & ANKLE.
Course Description:
This course will provide an overview of the basics of Musculoskeletal (MSK) Sonography of the Foot and Ankle, including discussions of anatomy, technique, and the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal situations. Artifacts unique to sonography of the musculoskeletal system will also be covered. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit)

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
- Explain proper technique and positioning to obtain optimal images when scanning the foot and ankle
- Identify normal ultrasound anatomy of the foot and ankle
- Define artifacts unique to MSK foot and ankle scanning
- Recognize and discuss ultrasound findings of foot and ankle pathology
- Describe advantages and limitations of foot and ankle sonography
About Our Speaker:
Dr. Ralph A. Milillo is a Musculoskeletal Radiologist currently employed by Northwell Health. He completed his residency training at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC where he also served as Chief Resident. Dr. Milillo then completed his fellowship training at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA.
At his current position, Dr. Milillo is the Medical Director of a busy outpatient imaging office with a focus on MSK diagnostic imaging and interventions. He is also the Director of its Musculoskeletal Imaging Fellowship and enjoys teaching all levels of trainees.
Dr. Milillo thinks ultrasound is an important part of our field because it is accessible and affordable. It provides a bounty of information when performed in the right hands. Its ability to offer dynamic imaging and answer certain clinical questions is critical.
