ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is pleased to welcome back Cara Q. Case, MEd, RDMS, RDCS, Program Director at Gateway Community College’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, for an instructive analysis of assorted gynecological cases.
Course Description:
Visualization of female pelvic structures via ultrasound is a quick, non-invasive tool which is especially of value when gynecologic pathology is present. This course will look at sonographic findings for a variety of gynecological pathologies through interesting case studies. Associated risk factors, laboratory data, as well as treatments, outcomes, and comparisons from other imaging modalities, will be discussed. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event.)
Course Objectives:Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
Describe sonographic findings in a variety of abnormal gynecologic conditions.
List pertinent risk factors and laboratory data associated with specific pelvic pathologies.
Discuss possible diagnoses and outcomes related to a range of gynecologic scenarios.
About Our Speaker:
Cara Q. Case, MEd, RDMS, RDCS, has 37 years of experience as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. She began as a Staff Sonographer in a large trauma center where she conducted a variety of General, OB/GYN, and Cardiac exams. Ms. Case also had the privilege of being employed as a Research Sonographer at Yale University under the mentorship of Dr. Kenneth Taylor, world-renowned academic Radiologist and pioneer in the applications of diagnostic medical ultrasound. Cara helped establish the first ovarian cancer screening center at Yale and has also been involved with multiple contrast agent and drug trials, including working with the FDA to develop protocols.
After her many years at Yale, Ms. Case became the Chief Sonographer at a large OB/GYN practice in Connecticut. In addition, she has collaborated with ultrasound manufacturers on machine design. For the past 20 years, Ms. Case has taught Medical, Physician Assistant, and Sonography students. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational/Instructional Technology from Post University. Presently, Ms. Case is the Program Director at Gateway Community College’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program in New Haven, Connecticut. Furthermore, she is currently the President of IFSER (International Foundation for Sonography Education and Research).
This activity has been approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit.
The CME participant roster will be reported by Ultrasound Solutions Corp. to the
SDMS CME Tracker System.
Important update from the SDMS:
SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.
Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, this is a new SDMS policy we must abide by. Thank you for understanding.
