ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is pleased to continue our Wharton’s Wednesdays series with another outstanding discussion by Dr. Ronald Wharton from North Shore University Hospital on Spectral Doppler analysis.
Course Description:
There’s a wealth of diagnostic information available if one dissects spectral Doppler tracings carefully. Spectral Doppler analysis can improve diagnostic accuracy, especially when 2D imaging is suboptimal. By correlating these tracings with electrocardiographic timing, it is possible to unmask confusing signals and simplify the diagnostic process. This session will use an interactive case-based approach of challenging scenarios that will be unraveled with audience input. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
• Recognize normal spectral Doppler patterns
• Explain the limitations of color Doppler compared to spectral Doppler
• State how spectral Doppler analysis can be used in the diagnosis of specific cardiac pathologies
About Our Speaker: Dr. Ronald Wharton is a Clinical Cardiologist, Echocardiographer, and nationally recognized expert. He is currently a member of the faculty at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. Prior to working at North Shore University Hospital, he was a member of the Non-Invasive Cardiology Divisions of Maimonides Medical Center (Brooklyn, NY) and Montefiore Medical Center (Bronx, NY).
Dr. Wharton, who is board-certified in Cardiology and Echocardiography, has been a member of the faculty at the annual meeting of the American Society of Echocardiography four times. He has written questions for the practice exams used by Cardiology Fellows to study for their board certification in Echocardiography, and for practicing Cardiologists to maintain their certification. In addition, he was the author of the series “Analyze This Image” at Medscape Cardiology from 2012 to 2019.
This activity has been approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit. The CME participant roster will be reported by Ultrasound Solutions Corp. to the SDMS CME Tracker System.
Important update from the SDMS:
SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.
Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, this is a new SDMS policy we must abide by. Thank you for understanding.
