March 8, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EST

Finding Coronary Arteries

ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is excited to welcome Jeff Jewell, BS, RDCS, FASE, Lead Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer at WakeMed Children’s Hospital in North Carolina, for an illuminating discussion on identification of the coronary arteries.

Course Description:
Finding coronary arteries can be a challenge. In this lecture, we are going to learn the importance of evaluating coronary arteries, the best views for identifying their origins and even better views for following the course of the coronary arteries. This information will hopefully turn your chest pain into a more comfortable understanding of why these elusive arteries are so important to detect, even in the adult echo world where achieving good image quality can be difficult. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)

About Our Speaker:
Finding Coronary ArteriesJeff Jewell, BS, RDCS, FASE, is the Lead Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer at WakeMed Children’s Hospital in Raleigh, NC. Jeff has been a Sonographer since graduating with distinction in 1996 from the U.S. Naval Cardiovascular Technologist Program. During his early career, he worked in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory where he oversaw the Electrophysiology Laboratory and the Pediatric Laboratory. Once he left the Navy, he accepted a position at UNC-Chapel Hill in the Pediatric Echo Lab. While working at UNC, he began his role as an educator training new Sonography Students and Adult Sonographers that were performing pediatric exams from remote sites.
Jeff strongly believes it is important to be involved with multiple professional societies and to dedicate volunteer time on different committees to increase one’s knowledge and meet people from all around the country. To fulfill that pledge, he has lectured for the North Carolina Ultrasound Society (NCUS) and served on their Board of Directors, as both Vice President and President. His current position with NCUS is Treasurer. Jeff is also a member of the American Society of Echocardiography, serving on their Guidelines and Standards Committee, as well as on the Communications Committee for the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography.
Beyond his numerous volunteer activities, he has been published in the November 2021 issue of ECHO Magazine.

This activity has been approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit.
The CME participant roster will be reported by Ultrasound Solutions Corp. to theSDMS CME Tracker System.

SDMS

Important update from the SDMS:

SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.

Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, this is a new SDMS policy we must abide by. Thank you for understanding.
