Detection of Fetal Anomalies in the First Trimester

March 20 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Free

ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is excited to welcome back Dr. PadmaLatha Gurram, Director of Perinatal Ultrasound for Catholic Health Services (Long Island, NY), for a discussion of how to recognize numerous first trimester fetal anomalies.

Course Description:

Did you know that improvements in ultrasound instrumentation and measurements now make it possible for many malformations to be initially identified during the first trimester, but this involves a thorough understanding of fetal anatomy during these early developmental stages. This presentation will discuss what is involved in a first trimester sonographic scan, as well as covering normal anatomy and some of the anomalies frequently found during this gestational period. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)

Course Objectives:  Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:

    • Explain the requirements of a basic sonographic examination for a fetus at 11 to 14 weeks gestation
    • Review details of the assessment of fetal anatomy between 11 and 14 weeks
    • Discuss some of the anomalies that can be detected during the first trimester

Important update from the SDMS:

SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.

Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, this is a new SDMS policy we must abide by. Thank you for understanding.
