Family-Centered Patient Advocacy Course: Family-centered patient advocacy can save the lives of those you serve. This course will give you the tools you need to be an advocate for you or someone you love.
Have you ever wondered how you, as a patient, might communicate better with members of the medical profession? Have you ever had to help a friend or family member during their medical treatment?
The Family-Centered Patient Advocacy training program was developed by Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy with input from national experts in patient safety. This course starts with the history of patient safety, then teaches medication safety, health literacy, communication skills, and much more, and helps participants learn to be active partners with the medical team and provide a voice for themselves or others.
This patient advocacy course is open to everyone, regardless of prior knowledge and skills, including those working in the medical and related health fields. Course participants receive a Certificate of Completion. Enrollment is limited.
Following course completion, Instructors are available on an as-needed basis if questions or concerns should arise.
