“How Well Do You Know Your Abdomen?” Volume 2: Another Interactive Review Session

ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. eagerly welcomes back Claudia J. Innaco, Program Director at Northwell Health’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, for Part 2 of an interactive review of Abdominal Sonography.

Course Description:

Are you preparing to take an Abdominal Sonography registry exam or do you simply enjoy an opportunity to refresh and test your current abdominal sonography knowledge? Either way, this event will expand on a previous review of anatomy, pathology, sonographic appearances, and Doppler patterns for abdominal, superficial structures, and other organs systems included in abdomen registry examinations. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)

Course Objectives:  Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:

• Identify sonographic anatomy, relational anatomy, and anatomic variants
• Differentiate normal from abnormal findings during a sonographic examination
• Formulate a preliminary diagnosis based on clinical history and sonographic findings
• Assess normal gray-scale and Doppler measurements

About Our Speaker: 

Claudia J. Innaco, BS, RDMS, RDCS, RVS is currently the Program Director of the School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Northwell Health. Claudia has been active in the sonography community since graduating from SUNY Downstate Medical Center with a BS degree in Diagnostic Medical Imaging. Her career has primarily been focused on sonography education, which includes having been the Director of Clinical Education for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at Long Island University, Program Director of the School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography at Western Suffolk BOCES, and Adjunct Instructor at Molloy University’s Cardiovascular Technology Program. She has also worked clinically as a Sonographer/Echocardiographer for many years. Her other roles have included: Technical Director of an IAC (Intersocietal Accreditation Commission) Adult Echocardiography-accredited facility; Coordinator of Quality Assurance for an ACR-accredited (American College of Radiology) ultrasound facility; and Instructor of Sonography/Echocardiography for Sonography, Medical, and Physician Assistant students. Additionally, she is a published author.

Claudia continues to give back to the sonography community by volunteering for: the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) on the Infection Control Task Force and as a Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reviewer; the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) as a Maintenance of Certification Item Reviewer; and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) as a Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (JRC-DMS) Site Visitor.

This activity has been approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit.

The CME participant roster will be reported by Ultrasound Solutions Corp. to the SDMS CME Tracker System.

Important update from the SDMS:

SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.

Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, this is a new SDMS policy we must abide by. Thank you for understanding.
