Course Description:
Fatty liver disease continues to be a worldwide problem. Various methods are being evaluated to best determine the stage of a fatty liver. One method uses ultrasound. This talk will discuss the various types of ultrasonic elastography, how to perform sonographic liver elastography exams, and the new names for the various stages of fatty liver involvement. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)
Course Objectives:Â Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
Discuss the latest name changes for fatty liver disease.
Describe the different types of liver elastography used in ultrasound.
Explain proper techniques to perform a liver elastography exam.
About Our Speaker:Â
Robert DeJong, RDMS, RDCS, RVT, FAIUM, FSDMS, is retired from The Johns Hopkins Hospital where he was the Technical Manager of the Radiology Ultrasound Division for over 28 years. To further his interest in educating the next generations of Sonographers, he has published several books on sonographic scanning and patient care and has also authored chapters in multiple ultrasound textbooks.
Bob has been honored by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography with the Joan Baker Pioneer Award and has Fellow member status in both the SDMS and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. Additionally, he presently serves as an SDMS and SDMS Foundation Director.
As an active committee member of the SDMS, the AIUM, and the Maryland Ultrasound Society, he has involved himself in conference management, nominating committee activities, and CME organizations. Bob is a frequent speaker at national and local meetings on various ultrasound topics.
This activity has been approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit.

Important update from the SDMS:
SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.
Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, this is a new SDMS policy we must abide by. Thank you for understanding.
