ULTRASOUND SOLUTIONS CORP. is pleased to welcome back Richard Palma, BS, ACS, RCS, RDCS, FACVP, FSDMS, FASE, Program Director at Duke School of Medicine’s Cardiac Sonography Program, for a comprehensive session comparing Echocardiography to other cardiac imaging methods.
Course Description:
When a patient needs a cardiac diagnosis, how do we know which type of imaging modality will yield the best and most diagnostic information? This lecture will discuss the current use of different types of cardiac imaging and compare them to Echocardiography. A case study approach will be made to demonstrate the value of the different imaging methods when cardiovascular pathology is the focus. (Approved for 1 SDMS CME credit, provided one is present for the entire event)
Course Objectives:Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to:
Describe the importance of imaging cardiac structures through various imaging modalities.
Compare cardiac ultrasound to different imaging modalities.
State how different cardiac imaging modalities can assist in making a diagnosis.
About Our Speaker:
Richard Palma, BS, ACS, RCS, RDCS, FACVP, FSDMS, FASE, has worked in the profession since 1990. He is an Advanced Cardiac Sonographer who currently is the Progam Director and Clinical Coordinator of the Duke University School of Medicine Cardiac Sonography Certificate Program. Richard is the only Sonographer to have received three fellowships – one from the American Society of Echocardiography, another from the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, and a third from the Alliance of Cardiovascular Professionals. He has also been presented with the Distinguished Educator Award from the SDMS for his many years as a dedicated educator. Richard is married with three children and resides in the city of Durham, North Carolina.
This activity has been approved for 1.0 SDMS CME credit.
The CME participant roster will be reported by Ultrasound Solutions Corp. to the SDMS CME Tracker System.
Important update from the SDMS:
SDMS no longer allows its CME providers to issue Partial Credit for attendance. If you join late or leave early, the SDMS will no longer permit us to award partial pro-rated credit.
Therefore, from now on, in order to receive CME credit, you must be in attendance for the ENTIRE event via your own unique Zoom link that Zoom emailed to you when you registered. Then, and only then, will USC be able to award you any credit. So, please be prompt and attentive to the time schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience, but again, this is a new SDMS policy we must abide by. Thank you for understanding.
